Puerto Rico

Suitable for 3 to 5 players aged 12 and up, Puerto Rico is a strategy board game designed by Andreas Seyfarth and published by Rio Grande Games.

Players take on the challenge of managing prosperous plantations, cultivating crops like corn, coffee, sugar, tobacco, and indigo. Each round, players select roles—such as mayor, builder, or captain—that grant unique abilities. The key to winning is using these roles strategically to develop buildings and ship goods efficiently, aiming to earn the most victory points.

Puerto Rico received several prestigious awards in 2002, including the Deutscher Spiele Preis, the International Gamers Award for Best Multi-Player Strategy Game, and the Meeples Choice Award. It was also named our top board game of the year. Its card game adaptation, San Juan, is also highly regarded.
